Fairborn, OH June 11th, 2024 – STI-TEC’s Dr. Jennifer Whitestone, chief scientist for STI-TEC, worked with local students to update the Air Force’s increasingly capability-rich pilot helmets.
Three Cedarville University senior engineering students worked with Dr. Whitestone, who has worked with the Air Force since 1987. Dr Whitestone and her team have studied the many aspects of pilot accommodations and the large array of issues affecting pilots such as bladder relief solutions for women pilots during long sorties. Her team makes recommendations and insights but not new designs. Work will continue, particularly as new capabilities are added and new needs arise.
